![]() It also helps to kill all apps running so that the CPU is not used as much for things you aren't using at the time. I found myself pulling the little "cover" down that goes over the cupholders and putting the phone there so it's not sitting on the charger. I found that once that happens, it is best to take the phone off the charger and let it cool down. It takes a few minutes of fiddling to convince it to reconnect. After a few hours on the charger pad, carplay simply dies and disconnects from the car. Wireless carplay uses a lot of energy it seems and the phone gets really hot. It seems to be able to charge it as fast as the battery gets used. It doesn't so much as charge my phone as it keeps it from discharging. I think this was a shocking waste of money. I suspect I'll appreciate the ventilation when warm weather comes back around and I need to get in the car after finishing a hot run or bike ride. They are neither comfortable, nor uncomfortable. ![]() As for me, after both long drives (Friday and Sunday) I got out of the car feeling just fine and not "beat up" from the drive or the seat comfort.Īnyway, I do not regret the ventilated seats. I was wondering if it was the seat, however we both concluded it really was likely just due to her ultramarathon and she would reserve judgement on the seat until another road trip when abusing her body isn't involved. My wife, half way through the ride home, started complaining about her back hurting really bad. I have yet to do a long trip in her car though so I do wonder how comfortable that seat would be for a long drive. They have side bolsters that hug you nicely. ![]() I will say I much prefer the basic sensatac seats in my wife's 2020 X2 M35i. I would have much preferred to have side bolstering, but my understanding is the regular seats don't really have much in the way of side bolstering either. You sortof sit "on top" of the seat, rather than sit "in" them. Well, I am happy to report that, while they aren't the most uncomfortable seats I have ever experienced, I had no discomfort over the course of two 9ish hour drives either. Only after my car went into production (thus being too late to change anything) did I read all about how uncomfortable the seats are. When I ordered the car with ventilated seats I had yet to discover this forum. The trip was about a 8.5hr drive on Friday, followed by my wife running an ultramarathon on Saturday (this is relevant later), and driving home on Sunday. With 1500 miles on it now I have some impressions to share. I drove it to work all week, and then with 350 miles on it, I went on a road trip this past weekend.
